The Show

Welcome to Kites and Strings, the podcast where we explore creativity, balance and the tension that exists as we find our creative selves.

The hosts, Steve Ploum and Catherine Chinnock, are both Registered Art Therapists and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors in Chicago and New York City, and on the surface they to serve quite different clientele. They are also creatives who value and actively explore various media, genres and creative ventures. In Kites and Strings, they discuss their professional practices from time-to-time but they predominately explore the experience of finding balance between being creative and living a fulfilled life, while emphasizing the ever-present tension that exists in this endeavor. The title, Kites and Strings, references the tension experienced between the artistic, oft-showy and gregarious kite and the grounded, reasonable string.

Fabulous guests frequently join the podcast to share their unique and varying degrees of success and failures in their quest to grab that string and fly that kite.
